Powerpoint will not scale properly on second monitor

Powerpoint refuses to scale properly on my second monitor and borders menu items etc. stay too big to operate efficiently. Word is working as it should and the menu items resize appropriately when moving from monitor to monitor. Is there a setting to fix this and make it behave like Word does?

    I am using Office16, where the powerpnt.exe.manifest file did already exist.

    By digging into the differences i tried to only change the following tag in the existing manifest:

    <dpiAware>True/PM</dpiAware>

    to:

     <dpiAware>false</dpiAware>

    Seems to work. I've only tried it for a few minutes.

    After a year of this problem (massive ribbon when extending to my second display from laptop), this solved it thank you!

    Laptop running 2560x1440 screen 

    via HDMI

    Extended display running 1920x1080 screen

    I have this problem I think. To  confirm I'm on topic.... On my external display, in 'Second Screen Only' mode,  Powerpoint is huge. What used to be a window that took up half the screen now takes the whole screen. In 'Duplicate mode it's fine and just takes half the screen.

    No problem with other Office apps.

    It started just today following a Windows update (V1511 Build 10586.679), which may just be coincidence. I've never had the problem before.

    So far I've updated to the latest version of Office 365 (PPT 16.0.7329.1923) and I've made the change (to 'false') in the manifest file, all to no avail.

    Is there anything else I can try?
