No local file storage for OneNote on Mac version?

I just tried OneNote for a Mac.

I noticed that there is no way to load or save a local OneNote file.

I've been using OneNote on a PC for years. Really like it a lot. Was hoping to

now use it on my Mac.  

I don't know why OneNote is setup this way. I can't even load my existing personal

files from the Mac.  The decision to use a cloud service should be mine and not forced into

it. Even Evernote lets me store locally.

I use it for both personal and work related projects. I cannot put work projects out on

a public cloud repository so this new version is a no go for work. At this point I think

I'll look at Mac equivalents to OneNote and convert to something else.....

Free is great, but I would pay for a fully functional Mac version of OneNote. Please reconsider

local file storage.

Disappointed.

    I don't want to use OneDrive.  Period.  

    I have other services I use, including hosting files myself.  It would be fine if OneNote provided streamlined access to OneDrive and then also offered the ability to point to the file system.  If it offered this then I could point it to a folder being synced by another service.  OneDrive lockin is very disappointing.

    eOur company uses DropBox. It seems as though I cannot access any of them and am therefor as frustrated as everyone else. Really annoying.

    Closer investigation, it depends on where you're cutting and pasting from. Outline, for example, you can't copy from and paste to Onenote, even though it will paste into other apps. Browsers seem to work. Lot of other apps don't .

    This looks like a half baked cut and paste in Onenote, the apps that you can't paste into Onenote from, they'll paste fine everywhere else.

    Not being able to paste images from Outline, that really is the killer, that's where all my notes are.

    Pasting of Images works fine.

    I used it this morning. I was having problems copying handwritten notes out of OneNote on the Mac and copied a couple of test images into OneNote, then copied them back out again. That worked fine.

    It seems that copying of handwritten notes doesn't work, or it copies them onto the clipboard in a Format that MS Office can't deal with.
