No local file storage for OneNote on Mac version?

I'm not sure you are listening; I've been waiting for sometime for local storage option.  Many people feel very suspicious about storing e.g. your home office data on a cloud, especially since the security of the data cannot be 100% guaranteed.  I use OneNote at work and was a big advocate for its use in our business and this has local server storage option.  

As disappointed as I am, I will not use this product while the only option is to save to the cloud.

For privacy reasons....

I want to be able to choose for myself what gets stored in the cloud an what remains local.

It would be simple to have the ability to synch devices over my local network vs a Microsoft cloud.   

As great of the program is, I wouldn't use it until these criteria are met.

So.  Basically this is bloatware that doesn't do anything?  Other than try to connect your machine to another cloud service?  It doesn't even sound like this version is worth the 20 minute download!  Free?  Really...  That is M$ saving grace?  They can put out crappy software that doesn't do what a consumer wants (I mean, really, who did they ask what a 'consumer' would want?  I don't remember getting any feedback request, I for sure wouldn't have said "Please M$ hold my feet down and tie my hands so I cannot do anything but look at this pink POS splash on my screen!") and instead restricts it so that my enterprise environment still cannot use it.  

I love my Mac, I love my Debian laptop.  I cannot wait to delete my winblows VM....  Boo on you M$, boo. on. you.

Can you give us a timescale for a version (paid or otherwise) with local file access, or is it not going to happen?

This is a very very basic functionality of importing the notes that we created some where else (.one). It requires neither too much of effort or new innovation. But Microsoft din't do it.

So, either they allow this in the paid version or, most likely, won't ! But certainly not in the subsequent free versions because if they could do it in the future, they could have done it already !!

thanks Daniel, the rest of the team that I work with are on PCs and they store OneNote files on Sharepoint and share them from there - I want to be able to view and edit OneNote docs on their SP site as well. So seeing OneNote on all my devices is not even close to being more valuable than seeing OneNote files on a drive, or locally, or on SharePoint for collaboration.
