No local file storage for OneNote on Mac version?

I just tried OneNote for a Mac.

I noticed that there is no way to load or save a local OneNote file.

I've been using OneNote on a PC for years. Really like it a lot. Was hoping to

now use it on my Mac.

I don't know why OneNote is setup this way. I can't even load my existing personal

files from the Mac. The decision to use a cloud service should be mine and not forced into

it. Even Evernote lets me store locally.

I use it for both personal and work related projects. I cannot put work projects out on

a public cloud repository so this new version is a no go for work. At this point I think

I'll look at Mac equivalents to OneNote and convert to something else.....

Free is great, but I would pay for a fully functional Mac version of OneNote. Please reconsider

local file storage.

Disappointed.

I have been paying for office 365 hoping to get One Note with local file storage. Still nothing. And no comments from MS as to when or if this will ever happen. Way to alienate your user base MS. How about at least the courtesy of an update? You customers have been requesting this feature for 2 years and the last comment from MS employees was 2 years ago.

Is it really that difficult to save file to a local disk? I program for the Mac and my educated guess is that it is easier for you to save locally than to save to the cloud and probably an order of magnitude easier than to save to that worthless piece of software you call Sharepoint. This tells me that your management has decided to deliberately cripple OneNote for the Mac.

When MS business starts to deteriorate at least it will make a good counterpoint to the success of Apple in business school case studies.

Well.. isn't this the dumbest things... used OneNote for a long time, and was exciting for get 2016 on my new MBP, bought a copy of Office 365, downloaded it to my new unit, copied over my old Notebooks and WHOOPS??

Where the **** is the local store access? What do you mean, up on Microsofts OneDrive.

Thats great, now OneNote files that i have used for years 2011,2013 between both Windows and Mac now don't work together or i have to push everything on the windows side up to MS OneNote?

Wow - way to knock out the last piece the i really needed/liked in the Office Suite.. all the other components have at least 10 open source alternatives, but i got office cause of the OneNote features..

Well. off to Evernote..

I would like to know how to get my money back based on the following:
- an upgrade where features are removed
- no backwards compatibility (pushing files to OneNote to pull them down again is not Compatibility).

I do not use OneNote on a phone or other mobile device. Ever.

This is a personal network tool for me that I store immense amounts of information on. I use a template locally that I copy and reuse for new projects. Very handy. I also have terrible connectivity and do not trust Time Warner to keep me connected to essential to my career data. I like backing up in the Cloud, not working off it.

Please change this, it makes OneNote on the Mac useless to me.
