Cut/Copy and Paste Problems in PowerPoint

PowerPoint will not allow me to paste anything into a slide.  I have tried text into a text box, shapes, entire slides.  It allows me to copy or cut, but when I try to paste it is greyed out or does nothing when I use Command+V on my MacBook Pro.  I am running Office 2011 Home & Student and copy and paste work fine in Word and Xcel.  I have tried to reinstall the software and that didn.t help either... Any ideas?

    I provided this information in an earlier posting, but will re-post for anyone new to the string.  Since I started this discussion months ago, there have been many people post that they are seeing the same issue.  I am assuming they are on a variety of MAC platforms and/or OS X versions judging by the volume of postings.    

    I am currently using OS X ver 10.9.2 (Mavericks), on a Macbook Pro with Retina.  During the past year I have migrated from ver 10.7, to ver 10.8, to ver 10.9.  The problem has been present at all versions of the operating system and does not seem to have a correlation to the OS X version level.  I am using the US English setup and keyboard on my Macbook Pro.

    I started with a MS Office Home/Student version of the product.  I upgraded that to the Professional version just incase there was an issue with the cheaper version.  The same problem and symptom was present at both versions.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled MS Office multiple times, and I have done so before and after doing Operating System upgrades too - none of that had an effects on resolving the problem.  I have done a OS X system restore (without preferences),  I have done a bare metal OS X restore at an Apple Store and then loaded all my applications independently back onto my machine (I wanted to make sure it wasn't MS Office or another application causing the issues).  I have spent many hours on the phone with MS second and third level support doing a remote into my machine and uninstalling and reinstalling the MS Office application and configuring the OS X and preferences.  None of this has worked to fix the problem.  

    It is definitely a bug in the MS Office for MAC version of the product.

    Hi Rudi,

    Thanks for the information.

    Still, no one has mentioned what version of Mac OS X is being used or what sort of hardware this happening on. Trackpads? Laptops? Desktops? Certain keyboards? In order to track this down everyone affected should please reply with system and hardware details so that we can find out what is in common with machines that are affected.

    Is everyone using a US English setup?

    I have the problem on just one of 2 Macs!

    Where I have the problem I cannot use command C and command V. So I use the Menu ... which works but more slowly.

    Add me to the tiny handful list please. I have suffering this problem for at least three months and I thought I was alone on it. The workaround I use is to copy and paste somewhere else and then copy and paste in PT. Another workaround is select and save as Save as Picture, then Import Picture. Both time consuming and with caveats.

    MS please fix this annoying issue, as usual, most of the problems in my mac come from the same firm.
