Cut/Copy and Paste Problems in PowerPoint

PowerPoint will not allow me to paste anything into a slide.  I have tried text into a text box, shapes, entire slides.  It allows me to copy or cut, but when I try to paste it is greyed out or does nothing when I use Command+V on my MacBook Pro.  I am running Office 2011 Home & Student and copy and paste work fine in Word and Xcel.  I have tried to reinstall the software and that didn.t help either... Any ideas?

    Scrapbook doesn't work for me when I try it inside Powerpoint.  The option is "grayed" out.  That is the same if I am in Powerpoint and copy an object then try to use the edit pull down menu or the right click option.  If I use Command/V nothing happens at all.

    I can insert a new image from a file, and I can insert a new object from the Insert Toolbar, but once it is on the Powerpoint page I can't cut or copy it and paste it back onto that slide or another slide.

    I know I have posted all this a few times, but thought I would just add that these are pretty much the same symptoms that I experienced all along (e.g. can cut/copy and paste into Word & Excel, can cut/copy in Powerpoint when selecting text inside the text box but not when I select the entire text box as an object.

    I have done every uninstall/reinstall, permissions repairs, bare metal OS installs, etc. that are known to both the Microsoft and the Apple lvl-2 & lvl-3 support teams.

    Jim,

    Thank you very much.

    I have tried, among others, reinstalling, safe mode, repair permissions, repair disk, create a new user and finally yesterday I installed the latest update 14.4.1. The problem has not been solved yet.

    Some of the symptoms:

    1. The Cut/Copy and Paste work in Word and Excel. It also works when copying and paste text from inside a text box in PowerPoint.
    2. If I Paste something from Cut or Copied from Excel or Word I can paste it in PowerPoint.  It changed the color of the object pasted (from blue to yellow).
    3. When I Cut/Copy any object (textbox, image, shape) and try to paste it, the Cut/Copy/Paste/Paste Special menu items in the Edit Menu and the pop up menu (right click of the mouse) are grayed out.
    4. I cannot Copy to Scrapbook because Copy to Scrapbook is always grayed out.

    Can you put items into the scrapbook? (View menu > Toolbox > Scrapbook displays the Scrapbook)

    Can you get items out of the scrapbook into your slides?

    Are items being pasted copied from PowerPoint itself or from some other application?

    Some have said that no items of any kind can be pasted. No text - no pictures - no anything. Is everything experiencing the same thing?
