PowerPoint will not allow me to paste anything into a slide. I have tried text into a text box, shapes, entire slides. It allows me to copy or cut, but when I try to paste it is greyed out or does nothing when I use Command+V on my MacBook Pro. I am running Office 2011 Home & Student and copy and paste work fine in Word and Xcel. I have tried to reinstall the software and that didn.t help either... Any ideas?

I have the problem on just one of 2 Macs!
Where I have the problem I cannot use command C and command V. So I use the Menu ... which works but more slowly.

Add me to the tiny handful list please. I have suffering this problem for at least three months and I thought I was alone on it. The workaround I use is to copy and paste somewhere else and then copy and paste in PT. Another workaround is select and save as Save as Picture, then Import Picture. Both time consuming and with caveats.
MS please fix this annoying issue, as usual, most of the problems in my mac come from the same firm.

Thanks for bringing this issue up again.
Since the problem was first posted last September, the number of views of this question has increased considerably. Today it’s at 209. That’s not overwhelming, but it certainly is significant.
You have done everything I can think of to make sure this is not a preference problem, system problem or preferences problem. You performed a “bare metal install” of Mac OS X and Office and repaired disk permissions.
There’s one piece of information that seems to be missing from this Q&A thread, and that is which version of Mac OS X is involved. Is this problem affecting Mac OSX update 10.9.2? Some other version? If you are affected, please reply.
Meanwhile, I’ll “escalate” this question by alerting Microsoft to take a special look at this problem.
No, it has not been fixed. I am still waiting for MS to make a patch or fix their software. The only work around I could find was to buy Keynote and convert .ppt files into Keynote so I could edit them and then save them back as .ppt.
I tried everything (re-installing MS Office, reloading MAC IOS, upgrading MAC IOC, changing preferences and settings, trying to run MS Office in another account and another profile, etc.). None of this works to fix the problem.
It is a bug in the MS Office software.
