PowerPoint will not allow me to paste anything into a slide. I have tried text into a text box, shapes, entire slides. It allows me to copy or cut, but when I try to paste it is greyed out or does nothing when I use Command+V on my MacBook Pro. I am running Office 2011 Home & Student and copy and paste work fine in Word and Xcel. I have tried to reinstall the software and that didn.t help either... Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem. Cut/Copy and Paste works perfectly in Word and Excel but not in Powerpoint. It also works from Word/Excel to Powerpoint.
When I copy something in Powerpoint, it goes as expected to the system clipboard (I checked it with Finder -> Edit -> Show clipboard) but the Paste menu is always disabled or a bell rings with Commande+v.
Don't know if you've tried this. I've solved similar problems with Word (freezing and bogus error messages when pasting some Clipboard contents) by going through an intermediary:
This has got to be a MS problem. I have eliminated every other thing that it could be.
It very well could be. However it is a problem affecting only tiny handful of users. It was hinted but not expressly stated that Mac OS was reinistalled. There is no mentioin of repairing disk permissions after reinstalling. There is no mention of using a disk maintenance tool to rebuild the volume header and directory. So my next suggestions are to do these things.
It is also possible that language settings and/or keyboard settings may be in play here. Is this problem with US English language installed on English language Mac OS with an English Language keyboard?
