Hello,
I have the same Click to Run Office 2010 popup.
It started popping up on Aug. 16, 2014
On Aug. 18, 2014 when the popup appeared it also activated the MSE Microsoft Security Essentials
windiow.
The MSE window stated 13 items scanned, no threats found.
I never clicked on MSE and never did a scan.
The MSE window stated last scan was done on Aug. 14, 2014.
For some reason this Click to Run Office 2010 popup triggered Microsoft Security Essentials to do a brief scan.
I have not clicked YES on the popup, only cancel or X to close.
What does seem odd is the popup stays up all the time and does not minimize to task bar.
A icon does also appear on the task bar when popup appears.
The only way to get rid of the popup is to close or cancel it.
When the popup appears I cannot open any Office 2010 files, until I close the popup.
If I have a Office Word 2010 Starter file open and the popup appears, I can click on
File - Help and under Click To Run Product Updates, it says an update is ready.
When I click on Update Options drop down one of the options says, Apply updates.

When I click on apply updates it says it has to close the program and to save all work.
What is weird it wants to update/run an old version 14.0.7128.5001
rather than the most recent 14.0.7130.5000
I have version 14.0.7128.5000 which I can't
find **H** **ERE**
This is to say the least troubling, When these updates were done in the past automatically in the background.
At the moment I am doing a full MSE scan.
Any Official Office 2010 Starter update info appreciated.
Thanks,
