Word found unreadable content...

I am working on my dissertation and recently purchased Word 2010.  Now, when I try to open my paper I get an error message that "Word found unreadable content in....."  When I select yes, to recover that contents I then get another error message that says "we are sorry.  We can't open ......because we found a problem with its contents."  The details then state:  "Operation aborted: max-element-depth constraint violated."

I have tried doing the open and repair and then saving but nothing works...help please?

    Were your documents saved directly from Word to a USB Drive or some other form of removable media?

    They are corrupted in a way that suggests that was the case as it is not possible to extract anything from the archive after changing the extension of the files to .zip.

    Saving to the flashdrive is almost certainly the cause of the problem. 

    You should NEVER open a document from any form of removable media or save a document directly from Word to such media.

    If you put a copy of the file in a folder on your OneDrive and you set that folder to be shared, and then post a link to the folder back here, someone may be able to help you.

    However, as the document was on a USB Drive, it has very likely become corrupted in a way that prevents it from being recovered.

    You should NEVER work with (open or save) a document that is located on any form of removable media.  Corruption of the document is an almost certain consequence.

    Hello 

    I am also having trouble with my Microsoft Word 2011, opening the word file is giving: "word found unreadable content in the ...." 

    My master's thesis document have had issues with language compability, although I think I have fixed it because when I run a compability check, nothing shows up. 

    However, it does not stop the software form asking me to constantly re-save my document. I work in Google Drive, maybe that is the issue? Hope it can be fixed. I have tried everything, it was fixed for a while but now the issue is back. I also use Mendeley reference software, if that is any help. Here is the link:
