Word found unreadable content...

I am working on my dissertation and recently purchased Word 2010.  Now, when I try to open my paper I get an error message that "Word found unreadable content in....."  When I select yes, to recover that contents I then get another error message that says "we are sorry.  We can't open ......because we found a problem with its contents."  The details then state:  "Operation aborted: max-element-depth constraint violated."

I have tried doing the open and repair and then saving but nothing works...help please?

    It was not possible to do anything with the file Template Eselon II and while I was able to recover Template Eselon IV, I was only able to save the recovered file in Word 97-2003 format as whenever I tried to save it as a .docx file, it caused Word to crash.  Probably the only thing that you can do with it is print it so that you have a copy of the text.  I also uploaded a copy in pdf format to the following folder of my OneDrive

    Let me know when you have retrieved them so that I can delete them from that folder.

    Were your documents saved to some form of removable media, such as a USB Drive?  You should NEVER open a Word document when it is on such a device, or save a Word document directly to such a device; corruption of the document is an almost certain result.

    I've opened the repaired DOCX in both Word 2007 and Word 2010 although it appears to have some trouble displaying properly in the Word Web App. I've saved it as a Word 2000-2003 DOC with no loss of content and I'm providing a public DropBox link below.

    Your inability to open the DOCX I provided earlier may have something to do with SP2. If you have not installed SP2 into your Office 2010 as yet, I would recommend that you do so promptly.
