Hi I am trying to display my notebooks on the left as it shows here.

Do you mean you want to see the full list of notebooks in a pinned view?

You can only do it through the drop down menu as far as I can tell…

I'd like to know too. Looks like it isn't possible yet. Hope this is introduced in an update soon! No better than Evernote otherwise.
