No matter how good of a picture I have when I insert it into Visio 2013 Pro, it is blurry.

I get blue prints as JPG PNG BMP but no matter how good the quality of the picture, after it is inserted into Visio none of the words can be read.  I even used a 600 dpi 36"X24" crystal clean blueprint and it still looked blurry or pixilated in Visio.  What's the deal with this $300 software?  I can open up the bmp png jpg in previewer and it looks great zoomed in by the way.

    Yo,

    If you're looking to save an entire page, I probably don't have the answer.

    But if you just want to save a group of Visio 2013 objects, then I've got a workaround.

    I've tried a million and one options, and I have concluded that the best way to get a clear image is to:

    1. Enlarge the image on the Visio screen to maybe 120% or so larger than you'll want it in Word (I've found the largest you can make it, while still seeing it all, the best)
    2. Make sure there's nothing in the background - page separators, etc.
    3. Using the built-in Windows 7 Snipping Tool, highlight the square area containing the Visio object
    4. Save the Snipping Tool 'snip' as a GIF
    5. Import the GIF into Word.
    6. Resize GIF with built-in Word bottom-right adjuster if needed

    Looks pretty damn good .. not perfect ... but as good as it gets.

    What is the point of a forum if you don't go back and look at previous posts?  Look at my 9/11/13 post so you can see the picture I posted.  Note that a year later(with the updates) nothing has changed.   Amardeep, be honest here.  Can you import a high definition .png file that's 24"X36" into Visio without it going blurry?  If you can, show me.

    Has this been sorted yet? I have a large jpg (17Mb) and its unusable when imported.  I would be happy to downgrade to visio 2010 but Microsoft wont let me!

    Thanks for your help, Amardeep.  I have just tried it on another machine, but I get exactly the same problem, including that I can't see either of the patches in the list of installed updates, but when I try to install them it says that they are already installed.  The image is still blurred when inserted.  Can you suggest anything else?

    mcking38, the patch may not be installed correctly. Can you try this on some other machine to isolate the problem or try and install a newer patch.

    DragonIvec, please provide some more details. Share the image that you are using along with the Visio file where it is blurring.
