No matter how good of a picture I have when I insert it into Visio 2013 Pro, it is blurry.

I get blue prints as JPG PNG BMP but no matter how good the quality of the picture, after it is inserted into Visio none of the words can be read.  I even used a 600 dpi 36"X24" crystal clean blueprint and it still looked blurry or pixilated in Visio.  What's the deal with this $300 software?  I can open up the bmp png jpg in previewer and it looks great zoomed in by the way.

    Unfortunately, I got a click-to-run installation (version 15.0.4711.1003) for which the KB patches do not apply. My update setting is "Automatically", so I should suppose I already have this patch.

    However, looking in the installed updates log window, there are no update for Office listed at all. Thus I don't know whether I have this patch or not. So I started "Update now" and it downloaded and installed some updates, but no change. Version is now 15.0.4763.1002.

    Sorry, I don't have an answer for your problem.

    FYI, when you have a CTR (click to not run) installation, traditional "Windows Updates" no longer apply.  All 'updates' are pushed out by MS directly to the CTR installation. The only indication you have is the version number.  As you found, you can force the update a little by clicking on the "Update Now" button in one of the CTR applications.

    Sorry to dig out this old thread, but this year our company switched to Office 2013 and also Visio 2013 and thus I also got this problem with the blurry images.

    OK, let's check the registry. Path HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Visio\Application does not exist. There is no key Visio in 15.0. But I found it in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0. Unfortunately, no value SupportHighResImage. OK, I just created it and restarted Visio - still no change. What to do now?

    Had the same issue with Visio 2013/2016 and MathType 6.9. The equations were blurry every time I reopen the file to work on it, and I had to open each equation object again and update it to look normal. I went back to Visio 2010 and everything are normal now, no issues at all with MathType objects at least. I don't know why Microsoft doesn't include there own equation toolkit with Visio like the one in Word, it would be much better, at least if they want to empower people to their work lot easier!
