Status Bar Sum Total Disappears

I use a two monitor system and will have MS Excel 2013 running on both.  On one monitor I can select a range of numbers and the sum total will show in he status bar.  When I select a cell in the workbook on my other monitor the sum total disappears.  Is there a way to not have the sum total disappear?

    So out of touch and just clear lack of concern for excel users.  I am surprised that no patch has been done yet about this.

    I am not one to complain but losing the sum functionality has a big impact. Can you give an update as to where a potential patch sits in the prioritization?

    You clearly don't "listen to all feedback and consider them for additional feature/future versions of our products" - all these complaints date back from January 2014 - it is now November 2016 and I have just been "upgraded" to Excel 2013 - the issue is still here!  This is the most frustrating part about being forced to take new software - the fact that these companies obviously don't use their own products, and change the look and features of the product just to justify a new release, without consultation with their customers who actually do use the product.  This is the biggest time waster in our working day!
