Horizontal scroll by mousewheel not working

I have a Logitech M500 mouse. This mouse has a mechanical mousewheel (the "ticking" kind), which can also be clicked from the sides to horizontally scroll. The great thing as that this works almost everywhere... In my browser, in Notepad++, basically almost everywhere as far as the programs go that I use. Except for Excel 2013.

Possibly related, it also doesn't work in regular ol' Explorer file browser windows. Not a bother, because I use Total Commander. But the horizontal scroll thing does work in Internet Explorer 10, which seems odd to me (same company behind Explorer and Internet Explorer, after all).

When I got the mouse, I did not install any drivers myself. I just connected the mouse and let Windows looks for and install proper drivers completely automatically. And since it works perfectly in the browser and my code editor, I figured the horizontal scroll function was working properly.

Is there perhaps some kind of thing that I need to do to make Excel recognize a horizontal scoll from the scrollwheel, or have I perhaps stumbled upon a bug?

btw, this is my mouse:

I have a Logitech M705. I downloaded SetPoint application here: http://support.logitech.com/en\_us/software/setpoint and followed the simple instruction provided by Nick and it now works with Excel to scroll left and right with the middle wheel.

The setting of the number of cells to scip in 1 click vs the speed when you hold it is not that great as you only have the speed setting. But at least, it works now.

Horizontal scrolling on my Sculpt Comfort Mouse is not working after updating the Mouse and Keyboard Center and/or the latest Windows 10 update.  I primarily use it for Excel.  I don't even see the option to enable horizontal scrolling in the mouse settings in Control Panel or in the Mouse and Keyboard Center.

It doesen't work only in Edge for me , works on everything else. I use google excel and I need to use the horizontal scroll because there are losts of columns. This worked perfectly on Chrome , but does not work on either on my windows 10 devices (laptops and PC).

Is there are fix for this?

    Thanks

    Hello,

Ran in same issue than everyone: horizontal scrolling of my MX Master not working under OneNote 2013, Excel with fully updated Windows 10 Enterprise.

I downloaded and installed http://support.logitech.com/en\_us/software/options , and without changing any options, without restarting Excel nor OneNote 2013, horizontal scrolling works.

Thanks Logitech for fixing Microsoft issues :)

Thanks Niclas_6692 for sharing the solution.
