OneNote for Mac now requires Mac OS X Yosemite

With today's OneNote for Mac update in the App Store (version 15.7.1), we've changed the minimum system requirements for OneNote to take advantage of the latest and greatest capabilities in Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10). Yosemite (10.10) is a free upgrade and is supported on the same hardware as Mavericks (10.9).

If you previously installed OneNote for Mac and are on OS X Mavericks (10.9), you can continue using the older version of OneNote for Mac, however in order to get today's update or any future OneNote updates, you must upgrade your OS to Yosemite 10.10 or later.

    I think it is legal, but not safe. I'd prefer to get link to MS resource such as their Download Center.

    I think it is safe, because You don't need to use downloaded program. And no need to run it

    just copy to /Applications and

    It will be automatically updated to official 15.4 from AppStore

    You must have any old version to update, but You cannot download it directly from Mavericks 

    Unfortunately this doesn't work. AppStore shows me only "incompatible update" to OneNote 15.8

    Yosemite is free, sure, but it is a horrible operating system.  Like the other reply, our family downgraded back to Mavericks, which is MUCH better.  So, again, if we want to  use OneNote, how do we get a version for Mavericks?  Also, forcing folks to upgrade for no apparent reason, or locking in to one version of an OS does not seem very sensible.

    What's horrible about Yosemite?

    Dear Microsoft staff, please give us a link to older version of OneNote compatible with MacOs Mavericks in this conversation.

    I agree. Mavericks is still supported, and still updating with new Safari and Security Updates, it will be the best solution to have OneNote for both OS'es in the Appstore and don't force legal users of the program to make tricks with pirated versions
