OneNote for Mac now requires Mac OS X Yosemite

With today's OneNote for Mac update in the App Store (version 15.7.1), we've changed the minimum system requirements for OneNote to take advantage of the latest and greatest capabilities in Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10). Yosemite (10.10) is a free upgrade and is supported on the same hardware as Mavericks (10.9).

If you previously installed OneNote for Mac and are on OS X Mavericks (10.9), you can continue using the older version of OneNote for Mac, however in order to get today's update or any future OneNote updates, you must upgrade your OS to Yosemite 10.10 or later.

    But it is possible and it is not very difficult just to make OneNote available for both OS

    I think that there're a lot of peoples that don't want (or cannot) upgrade OS to the newer 10.10 version.

    I don't know what feature that are available only in OsX 10.10 OneNote use but me too think that should not be difficult to make available OneNote for the older Os's version.

    Since upgrading breaks VMware (paid upgrade required), I won't be upgrading to 10.10. So I guess I'll be stuck on the older version. Sigh.

    Is there any place where i could download the last "good-old-version" that runs on 10.9  ???

    What version of Fusion? Fusion 6 works fine for me here on Yosemite.

    Yosemite is free, sure, but it is a horrible operating system.  Like the other reply, our family downgraded back to Mavericks, which is MUCH better.  So, again, if we want to  use OneNote, how do we get a version for Mavericks?  Also, forcing folks to upgrade for no apparent reason, or locking in to one version of an OS does not seem very sensible.

    What's horrible about Yosemite?

    I mainly downgraded to Mavericks because of com.apple.geod process freezing along with other major problems (freezing, stuttering) which makes the OS unreliable. Simplistic design is the only thing I liked about it.

    I first had tons of problems when I performed an upgrade from Mavericks to 10.10.0 Yosemite. Then I tried a clean install of 10.10.0, and then also a clean install of 10.10.1. Same problem! I read that 10.10.2 still has this problem.

    Apple integrating so many junk to the OSX for their iPhone/iPad users to unify the experience so that they can advertise them. They ran out of ideas, and now all they are adding is piling up buggy software junk to the OS. Yosemite is almost as bad as Windows Vista. Even at 10.10.2, it's still in beta phase for sure.

    I'm really wondering what is so wonderful about Yosemite that MS dropped Mavericks compatibility and made it a requirement to use OneNote.
