With today's OneNote for Mac update in the App Store (version 15.7.1), we've changed the minimum system requirements for OneNote to take advantage of the latest and greatest capabilities in Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10). Yosemite (10.10) is a free upgrade and is supported on the same hardware as Mavericks (10.9).
If you previously installed OneNote for Mac and are on OS X Mavericks (10.9), you can continue using the older version of OneNote for Mac, however in order to get today's update or any future OneNote updates, you must upgrade your OS to Yosemite 10.10 or later.

Same issue except just upgrading to Mavericks. Want to download OneNote. Is there a way to download the Mavericks version?
I'm disappointed. This is just silly.
Well that's a bummer. Like others said, Yosemite is still in beta despite the "Public release" label. Wifi problems, No TRIM support on non-apple SSDs, display issues and the general sluggish performance is meh.
Guess i'll be staying on the old versions.
Okay, now I understand: you have been expressing your opinion.
Unlike you, I love the new design. I also do not experience any serious problems so far, despite the fact that I'm mostly working with beta versions of Yosemite.
Well, for one, it is plain ugly. It is the worst operating system Apple has put out in a long time. The bugs are bad and Mavericks is much better. Bugs are not a matter of opinion, they are what they are. Yosemite was renaming my wife's computer and messing up her Time Machine backups.
As as an opinion, it is an ugly user interface, but I will not deal with th ugly unless it works well or has some killer feature I really want. It has neither.
But, OneNote should be available for Mavericks.
