I have installed O365 all apps are working fine except Excel it is giving Error "We're sorry, but Excel has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly". Excel will need to be closed as a result.it is giving repair option however tired both repair option online and offline issue is still unresolved.

Hi

As per the description you are facing issue while trying to access the Excel program. Let me assist you with the issue.

Does the error pop up as soon as you click on the Excel program to open or once the Excel is opened?

Try the steps below and check if it helps:

Step 1:

Try to open Excel in safe mode and check if it opens:

· Hold Windows key + R.

· Copy and paste, or type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter:

Excel /safe

Note: There is space between Excel and**/**

If the issue does not occur in Excel safe, then try to disable add-ins associated with Excel 2013 and check the result.

· Click on File menu, Options and then Add-ins.

· Click on Go button besides Manage: Com-in Add.

· Check if there are add-ins listed, clear the checkbox to disable them.

Step 2:

If the above step fails, try the step below:

Right click on Excel (.exe) > Properties > Compatibility > uncheck all the boxes, click Ok and check if it helps.

To access Excel (.exe), open the following location:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\Excel.exe

Or

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\Root\Office15\Excel.exe

Try to open Excel and check if it opens.

    Thank you for replying.

    What happens when you try to start Outlook in safe mode, do you get any error message?

    Have you installed the latest updates for Windows and Office?

    Since you were not able to locate the Excel.exe file, you may try the steps below:

    1. Right-click the Office 2013 application to select it.
    2. Click Open file location.
    3. Right-click the Excel 2013 application icon and click Properties.
    4. Tap or click the Compatibility tab.
    5. Uncheck Run this program in compatibility mode, and tap or click OK.

    You may also start the computer in clean boot and check the result:

    Note: Ensure to restart the computer in normal mode once troubleshooting is completed.

    Clean boot is performed to disable all startup programs and 3rd party services on the computer and check if they are conflicting with the Office program. If so, you may disable the unwanted software which conflict with the suite or update the same.

    I do not have Office. Only Excel

    There is a directory item Office15. I will try that and also try safe mode. very strange.

    Must go, will get back to you tomorrow, thanks for tips.

    I have installed Office 2013 Pro 64 bit, all programs work fine except for Excel. My computer operating system is Windows 8.1. I tried the safe mode and I got the error message: "we are sorry, but Excel has run into an error hat is preventing it from working correctly.  Excel will need to be closed as a result." I tried to access the Excel program file, it shows the same error message.  What should I do?
