Word for iPad Save As PDF

As far as I can tell, there is no way to save a word document (accessed via onedrive) as a PDF from my iPad. I have looked into third party programs to convert onedrive word documents to PDFs, but they mess up our header.

It is important for us to be able to work on word documents on the go, and email out a pdf of the document once complete. When will we be able to save as a PDF?

You're correct that Word for iPad doesn't currently have the ability to save as PDF. Thanks for the feedback on this and the explanation about how it impacts your workflow. I'll take this back to the team for consideration for a future release.

    Thank you for your reply.  I did do this, but then where do I save the PDF document?  I can't save it on the Microsoft Word App folder as a PDF since I have to email it to myself.  And when I can save it somewhere on my IPad, I cannot access it from and/or for the Electronic Legal filing system in my state. My state (Iowa) has just converted the entire legal docket system for the state to EDMS and I want to be able to use my Ipad to file legal documents instead haveing to lug a laptop (and scanner) or run back to the office to scan and file, or to stand in line for the 2-5  terminals to scan and file.

    Plus I noticed when I try to open the PDF attachment, my IPad downloads it and opens it as part of the email message.  So then I have to go through lots of steps in other apps to save it as a PDF file.

    This may be an IPAD/Apple issue rather than a Microsoft, but this needs to be fixed.  I wish I could just SAVE as PDF while in Microsoft Word for IPad.

    Does anyone else have a similar problem?

    I too have created a PDF from an iPad Word file by mailing it to myself.  However, what I want to do is now  upload the PDF in a different application or website.  This isn't a Microsoft issue but does anyone know where the pdf is stored on the iPad once I have received the email on my iPad please?  I'd then like to upload that PDF to another website.

    Hi Stuehler,

    I understand what you mean. Unfortuately on the iPad files are stored in each app itself. So it is only in the mail app rightnow. To upload it from the iPad you wll need to first open it in an app that can upload the file.

    My personal favorite app is a free one called Documents by Readdle, which lets you store and read PDFs. And you can also link cloud services like Dropbox and Onedrive, as well as your own FTP servers and upload or download from them.

    They also have a more advanced paid app called PDF Expert.
