how to enter product key for publisher 2013

Just noting that RobertRaducanu's post of Sept 1, 2014 provided an alternative method that worked perfectly well for me.   It'll let you remove a previous Office 2013 or other Microsoft 2013 product via the command line.  Opening the program after doing this successfully gives one the opportunity to enter in a new product key.   One will still need to log onto one's Microsoft account (or sign up for one) to complete the new license registration and activation.

For me, the customized Office 2013 settings for different user profiles on the computer were left intact with this method.  Not sure if that would have been the case with the online repair.  It strikes me as more of a black box methodology.  That is, it's a wizard that will analyze your system and then automagically make a bunch of changes (under the guise of repairs) that may or may not be to your liking.

for me it doesnt show the option to enter a differnt key, just repair, or repair online??! what can i do?

I'm using the standalone version of the software, rather than the subscription.  Like others have reported here, I wasn't seeing the option we had in previous versions to update the license key via the control panel without going thru the very unobvious step of repair or reinstallation.   Running a repair or reinstall of Office through the control panel raises the distinct possibility that one might also lose some or all of their custom settings and be set back to the defaults. That might not be so bad if we had an easy way to transfer all one's custom office settings from one box to another.  I realize Windows Easy Transfer can help with that, but it's not an Office specific tool.  It's far more complex than the old tool Microsoft used to include in Office that let one export and import their MS Office settings. 

One tiny nit with your directions.  I was thrown a bit at first by step 2.  Eventually realized you meant to write cscript as you did in step 4, rather than "csscript" with the extra s.

On step 1, I'd like to add that selecting the windows the start button, entering "cmd" in the "search programs and files" box, and then right clicking on the cmd.exe search result will give one the option to run it as administrator.
