how to enter product key for publisher 2013

Hello Robert,

i just had the same Problem with Activating Off 2013 H&B.

For a customer i bought 2 Notebooks and 2 Licenses.

On each Notebook i installed one of the License Key.

I did not connect the Licenses with Online Accounts.

In Fact of an technical Defect of one of the Notebooks i had to Change the Hardware.

In the new Hardware i used the old SSD.

After a few weeks the new Notebook told the User to activate Office.

After pressing the Button to activate the Office License i became the message, that the License is already in use.

Searching with Google i found the this Thread and i tried the way you described sometimes, but the message was always the same.

This License is already max times activated".

In Fact of that i would not reinstall the Package, i selected the Option "Activate by phone".

After typing the endless Numbers into the phone, the product was successfully activated.

The Licensing of Micosoft Product is terrible. MS want's the Customer to use Office 365.

One of my Customers uses Office 365. Since he uses this Office Version we created a Nickname: "Offline 365".

I'am frustrated about the MS License Policies. They do all, to make the Job not easy.

Sometimes i think about wrting al Bill to Microsoft.

How to change license key on Office 2013 for Home & Business

(Professional has the GUI option from Add/Remove Programs - Change)

Basically:

1. Open cmd or powershell with administrative priviledges (not sure if you really need Run As Administrator).

If you installed the 64-bit version of Office 2013, move to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15

If you installed the 32-bit version of Office 2013, move to the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15

2. Run csscript ospp.vbs /dstatus
3. Copy from the output Last 5 characters of installed product key.
4. Run cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:LAST5DIGITS (the digits that you've copied the previous step).
5. Start any Office app and the dialog box to input a product key pops up.
6. Do the activation steps.

Let me offer a possible workaround:

Attempt activation!  If the key is in use, or already registered, I belive it should bring up a screen that offers the option to Change the key.

I also believe that the "Change Key" option only appears after the product has been activated.

I will be testing this today and will try to post the results that follow.

I have read this link and to change the product key in office 2013.

Goto Control Panel -> Programs ->Programs and Features

Click on Microsoft office 2013 click change

do a online repair. Once this is finished it will go through the installation again and give you the option to add the product key in again. You can add the new product key and finish the installation as you did the first time you installed office 2013. It also keeps the settings that you had already input into the applications.
