Problem with copy & paste in Excel 2010

I am running Excel 2010 on Windows 7. I am having a problem with the cut and paste command. This has worked OK for the few months I have been using the program, but the paste options have suddenly stopped working properly.  When I click on paste special, the only options shown are unicode text or text, with no explanation. When I copy and paste formulas, e. g. autosum,  it is not applying them properly to the selected cells, or it is just pasting the values of the copied cells. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office Home and Business 2010, but the problem is still there. Any ideas?

Skype has released an updated version of the Click to Call browser add-on that should be free of the problem mentioned above.

If you want it, go to http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-computer/click-to-call/windows/ and click Download Now.

    FYI - we also have the exact problem and series of events as described in this string.  Here are our product stats:

    Running Windows 7 Professional32-bit

    Microsoft Office Small Business 2007

    Internet Explorer 9

    Mozilla Firefox 11.0

    Somewhere else someone referenced that the problem may have started following a Microsoft update as of March 14.  Could this be the problem?

    Guruprasad Ra,  Can you carry this info back to the engineers?  These users have provided a pretty good description of the problem and the software involved and seem to have been able to point to the updates of March 14 as a possible causative factor in it all.

    Based on other discussions, this is affecting cut-n-paste and copy format (with the format painter) at the very least.

    I'm also having the problem. Running XP Pro SP3 32 but with all updates and patches. Office 2010 Professional. Seems that the browsers I use: Firefox 11.0, Google Chrome 17.0.963.79 m both cause the problem. When I close them, the problem disappears. This is a real pain.
