Problem with copy & paste in Excel 2010

I am running Excel 2010 on Windows 7. I am having a problem with the cut and paste command. This has worked OK for the few months I have been using the program, but the paste options have suddenly stopped working properly.  When I click on paste special, the only options shown are unicode text or text, with no explanation. When I copy and paste formulas, e. g. autosum,  it is not applying them properly to the selected cells, or it is just pasting the values of the copied cells. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office Home and Business 2010, but the problem is still there. Any ideas?

Skype has released an updated version of the Click to Call browser add-on that should be free of the problem mentioned above.

If you want it, go to http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-computer/click-to-call/windows/ and click Download Now.

    This fixed it for me! Thank you ever so much, I thought I was going mad :-)

    I'm using Office 2007 SP3 by the way.

    Guruprasad Ra,  Can you carry this info back to the engineers?  These users have provided a pretty good description of the problem and the software involved and seem to have been able to point to the updates of March 14 as a possible causative factor in it all.

    Based on other discussions, this is affecting cut-n-paste and copy format (with the format painter) at the very least.

     

    I came across the copy and paste problem today in excel 2010 and followed  the above prescribed solutions of which none worked for me. I eventually resolved it at the end of the day by clicking the 'calculate now' icon in the formulas toolbar.

    I have had the same problem with office 2010 professional and windows 7 64 bit etc.  Unable to cut and paste formulas or formats, etc absolutely maddening.  Tried repair, re-installing all to no avail.  I use chrome as my browser and sometimes explorer.

    Just un-installed Skype 'click to call' add on and hey presto it all works again.  Thanks for the answer and thanks Skype for a massive headache!
