I just upgraded to a full version of MS Office 2013. I am using Word and notice two things. One, it is not auto-correcting misspelled words as I type, and two, when I go to the "Review" tab and select "Spelling and Grammar" to do a spell check, it says "Spelling and grammar complete. You're good to go!" This is not correct.
I've gone to the Options menu. Autocorrect is turned on. Nothing else seems to make logical sense to me.
Is anyone else having this issue? Can someone help? I NEED my spell check.
Thank you
PS. My OS is Win7, 64-bit and I'm using Office 2013.

Hi Deanna, I wish I were sure this would help. The fix I found when I needed it is quite dated, I do not use Edge, I am in Word 2016, not 2013, and I am doing this from memory. With a doc open, click on Review, Language, and Language Preferences, Proofing. Uncheck all of the boxes under When Checking Spelling and Grammar in Word. Click OK. Close Word, restart the computer , open Word and the same doc you were in before, and go back and check the boxes for the functions you want. Then cross your fingers. Sorry if my memory fails me.
Can you please 'switch on' my spelling & grammar in my write program.I've been trying for days to get this sorted out - can you help?
No, George, I cannot switch on your spelling and grammar on your computer. This is an old posting and I think originally related to Word 2013. From memory, this is what worked for me with Word 2016.
