I just upgraded to a full version of MS Office 2013. I am using Word and notice two things. One, it is not auto-correcting misspelled words as I type, and two, when I go to the "Review" tab and select "Spelling and Grammar" to do a spell check, it says "Spelling and grammar complete. You're good to go!" This is not correct.
I've gone to the Options menu. Autocorrect is turned on. Nothing else seems to make logical sense to me.
Is anyone else having this issue? Can someone help? I NEED my spell check.
Thank you
PS. My OS is Win7, 64-bit and I'm using Office 2013.

This is a very old and long "thread." If you wart help with the problems you are having, you will do best to post a new question. You will get more responses and more meaningful responses that way.
In the meantime: the following has the most information: Mastering the Spelling Checker
Unfortunately this does not appear to work for everyone. I have tried both your suggestion and the one by Doug Robbins with absolutely no difference. Word 2013 still insists that the words "demosntrating" and "experinces" are spelt correctly when quite clearly they aren't. This is happening both on my home PC and at work and has only started since upgrading to Word 2013. Any ideas how to kick start the spell check?
Before you select Review>Language>Set proofing language, and uncheck the "do not check spelling or grammar", you must highlight all content first.
Hi All
I tried all the suggestions in this forum as well as those in Mastering the Spelling Checker but no luck. The final step I tried was deleting the registry entry and rebooting my PC.
I am running Windows 7/Office 365/Word 2016.
I welcome any other suggestions. TIA
