Disable "pick up where you left off"

Have any of you figured out how to turn this "Welcome back, pick up where you left off" bookmark thing? I've gone through all the options and add-ins I can find, and I can't make it stop doing this.

On the same track I deleted all the subkeys under 'Reading Locations' and then made the 'Reading Locations' key read-only to everyone.

This has stopped Word writing to the key and I no longer get the message when I re-open a document.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Reading Locations

    This function is senseless,  Our organization works with hundreds of documents each month, all with the same name.  -  We certainly don't need to "pick up where we left off" on a document for Company "A" when we are working on "Company B"  

    We are not using Microsoft Word as an e-reader.  We are looking at important work related documents.

    Again, Microsoft forces Windows with it's One Size Fits All mentality upon everyone regardless of making a product that actually works fluently for anybody.   -  What is so hard about adding an option in the  "Word Options" General section that has the ability to disable this feature. 

    C'mon Windows you are supposed to make our worklives easier, not more complicated. -  Please fix this bug. -

    I actually hope there is an option that word directly opens where I left off without any clicking. I often edit word document >200 pages. Clicking the pop-up every time is quite annoying for me......

    To make that happen, install the following macro in your Normal.dotm template:

    Sub AutoOpen()

       With ActiveDocument

          If .Bookmarks.Exists("\PrevSel1") Then

             .Bookmarks("\PrevSel1").Select

          End If

       End With

    End Sub
