Disable "pick up where you left off"

Have any of you figured out how to turn this "Welcome back, pick up where you left off" bookmark thing? I've gone through all the options and add-ins I can find, and I can't make it stop doing this.

On the same track I deleted all the subkeys under 'Reading Locations' and then made the 'Reading Locations' key read-only to everyone.

This has stopped Word writing to the key and I no longer get the message when I re-open a document.

    Any chance anyone has found the answer to the same problem in PowerPoint?   Unfortunately, there is no key named 'Reading Locations' in PowerPoint.

    In the Registry Editor, have you located the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Reading Locations key? You'll find the subkeys in the pane on the left.

    To set permissions on the key mentioned above, right-click and choose Permissions on the context menu. The exact steps depend on your version of Windows. It may not even be possible to set permissions with all versions of Windows.

    Changing anything under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Reading Locations only affects the user currently logged in to the computer. You will have to locate the corresponding key for each user account: HKEY_USERS\User_Name_Here\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Reading Locations.     Can you do step by step instructions? I can't figure out how to make it read-only to everyone. I get to reading locations and then I don't understand what you mean with delete the subkeys and make Reading Locations read-only
