Have any of you figured out how to turn this "Welcome back, pick up where you left off" bookmark thing? I've gone through all the options and add-ins I can find, and I can't make it stop doing this.

Thanks!

On the same track I deleted all the subkeys under 'Reading Locations' and then made the 'Reading Locations' key read-only to everyone.

This has stopped Word writing to the key and I no longer get the message when I re-open a document.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Reading Locations

That looks like a good place to start.

    You are welcome!

But, just to be clear, I wasn't the first person to come up with this idea. See earlier replies in this thread.

    Ok,

I followed your instructions and made the "deny" to my account - "Charlie (Charlie - PC\Charlie)" and saved.  Restarted the system, went to Word and opened the document and NO pop-up.  I made changes to the document, save and closed.  Went back to it and NO pop-up.  Your instructions were great!

    I owe you one!

    Charlie

In my test, I denied full control (of the key) for my user account, only, and it seems to work so far.
