Could you try this combination?
Do the solutions in this order, and try again after each application.
- Be up-to-date with Windows and Office Updates
- 'Disable Hardware graphics acceleration': File\Options\Advanced\Display\Disable hardware graphics accelerations (This counts for all Office Applications)
- Disable 'Page Navigation' in Publisher 2013 Ribbon\View\Show\Page Navigation (Alternately CTRL+PageUp/CTRL+PageDown or CTRL+G)
- Either uncheck the "use Office to sync files faster..." setting in SkyDrive, or uninstall 'SkyDrive'
- In Publisher 2013 'Use legacy drag preview': File\Options\Advanced\Display\Use legacy drag preview
- Create the Dword-32bit value '1' in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Graphics\DisableAnimations
- Control Panel Ease of Access Panel/Ease of Use\Use the computer without a display\Check 'Turn off all unnecessary animaitons (when possible)'
- Control Panel\System\Advanced System Settings\Advanced\Performance\Settings...\Uncheck 'Animate controls and elements inside windows'
After I did all these I did not have any problems anymore with publisher files.
I did not compress the picture etc. in the publisher and left them as large as the ware or even vector graphic charts with more then 1000 points.
The problem was that the page navigation rendered all the pictures again in the page navigation panel and that is what made all these problems. => You don't see this page navigation panel in publisher 2010 and earlier.
