I truly appreciate your lengthy reply and obvious acknowledgement of my extreme frustration...that having been said it happens that I have been working on two files at the same time. One is 116mb that is mostly high res photos, with other jpegs being ads
that have been converted from publisher, plus standard text boxes. That file actually worked well enough to finish after making some of the fixes I found in the thread. The one that I am currently trying to finish consists of very few actual photos, but
jpegs of ads converted from publisher or copied from a pdf; additionally it has many pages that were created inside the publication using standard publisher graphics, word art & text boxes. None of the fixes have made any difference whatsoever. I am now
creating ads, etc. in another publisher file, saving and changing to a jpeg, and then inserting into the publication. That way I can least accomplish the creation of the graphics. Then it takes interminable time to move them into position after inserting
into the publication. I will try hiding the pictures when I bring in a new one for placement and see if that makes a difference.
Perhaps you are correct that some change has occurred since the thread is indeed an old one...however I just downloaded this version of Office Pro a couple of months ago. I would have expected that my version would have come with some of the bugs worked
out. But perhaps those people just gave up and moved back to a previous version (as some have said they did) or moved on to another program. I do this kind of very large file only about once a year, and as a volunteer...certainly I am not able to afford (nor
do I realistically need) some expensive graphics program.
Thanks again for taking the time to help with this...I will continue to muddle through to finish. But I can say with much certainty I will search out something else before I start this project next year.
