Word keeps randomly switching to draft view when I have track changes on.

I contacted Endnote support.  They said to turn off instant formatting, and it worked.  Here is the whole message:

Since this happens only in Word 2010, it seems to be an issue with Microsoft Word. You can work around this by disabling track changes or instant formatting in Word.

Do you have Track Changes turned on in your document? If yes, please turn it off. You may refer to the following link for more information on this:

Check if this helps fixing the issue.

If the issue persists, you may need to turn of instant formatting.

To enable or disable Instant Formatting in the current document:

1. On the EndNote tab, in the Bibliography group, click the bottom corner arrow.
2. Click the Instant Formatting tab.
3. Click Turn On or Turn Off to toggle Instant Formatting.  Click OK to save changes to the Instant Formatting settings.
4. Click OK to format all citations and build the bibliography.

To enable or disable Instant Formatting in a new document:

1. On the EndNote tab, in the Tools group, click Preferences.
2. Under the General tab, Check this option: Enable Instant Formatting on new Word documents
3. Click on OK to save the changes.

If this issue still continues then please try the following:

1. Go into your Draft View.
2. Hold Ctrl and roll your mouse wheel, to stretch the ruler back out to normal size.

If you run Word in Safe mode for a while (for troubleshooting purposes), do you still see the problem?

Only if the manufacturer of the problem Add-In(s) has fixed them.

Endnote works fine has done for some time. it is not problematic, nor is its add in, that is a red herring. The problem of switching is recent started last night after downloading copy of document worke on by colleagues in the states.

what is the next solution? disabling add ins did not work, problem still occurs and is maddening.

please help as it switches back every couple of minutes or so.
