Have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windws 8 and have thereafter installed the Office 2013 trial version on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop. The Dragon Naturally Speaking version 12 works with MS Outlook as well as MS Excel however whenever I attempt to open MS Word i get a response Microsoft Word has stopped working: A problem caused te program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Please help me or inform me how long shall it take to provide the solution.

I shall try to assist you in related to your Word issue.
Verify if the ‘Dragon naturally speaking’ (Netspeak) add-in is enabled in Word application?
Try running the Word application as administrator by following the steps below
Right click on Word application and click ‘Run as admin’.
And follow the steps below to enable naturally speaking (add-in) in Word and check if it works fine.
Click on File, Options, Add-ins, and Click on ‘GO’ beside Manage – COM Add-ins and check the add-in option next to Netspeak and click OK

I used it this morning with Office 365 and it was fine. There was a slight problem as the screen flickers oddly but all worked well.
I do wonder just what kind of priority Nuance has - after all, Microsoft release code to developers well before the public can buy the product. I suspect profit leads all.
YES. The Dragon update 12.5 has resolved the issue.

In March of 2013 I purchased a new computer with a Windows 7, 64-bit operating system. I purchased 64 GB of RAM because Nuance (Dragon Naturally Speaking) has previously said the higher your RAM the higher the quality of the performance of its voice dictation software. I purchased Dragon Naturally Speaking 12.5 because Nuance specifically advertises that program to be compatible with Office 2013.
Unfortunately, my experience has been that Dragon 12.5 is not compatible with Office 2013. The Dragon and Office programs seem to work together for a few days, but then they become mutually corrupt, ultimately resulting in numerous shutdowns and blue screen of death (I have had countless of these over the last two months, including several yesterday). I have uninstalled and reinstalled both programs numerous times just to be able to open those programs after their mutual corruption.
A key point is that every time I install Dragon Naturally Speaking 12.5, Office 2013 immediately disables it (that is the only program Office 2013 does that to). Is that not the hallmark of basic underlying incompatibility? If I override that automatic disabling, it leads to immediate problems. If I use a workaround, such as not letting Dragon access Word or Excel documents or any emails and just cutting and pasting from Dragon Pad after dictating into Dragon Pad, these programs will last about 2 days before they again start their dance of mutual corruption.
I have spent numerous hours on the phone with Dragon Support (as well as numerous hours doing the weekly email “try this” suggestions.) I have also spent numerous hours on the phone with Microsoft support. Neither company has been able to solve the problem, nor do I detect any real serious desire or effort to resolve the problem. I have seen MSFT posts and Dragon posts indicating that I am not the only one experiencing these frustrating problems. Although Dragon advertises their 12.5 program as being compatible with Office 2013 (falsely I believe) , Microsoft at least does not make any similar false or misleading claim about Office 2013 being compatible with Dragon Naturally Speaking 12.5.
