MS Word 2013 stops working with The Dragon Naturally Speaking version 12

Have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windws 8 and have thereafter installed the Office 2013 trial version on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop. The Dragon Naturally Speaking version 12 works with MS Outlook as well as MS Excel however whenever I attempt to open MS Word i get a response Microsoft Word has stopped working: A problem caused te program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Please help me or inform me how long shall it take to provide the solution.

I shall try to assist you in related to your Word issue.

Verify if the ‘Dragon naturally speaking’ (Netspeak) add-in is enabled in Word application?

Try running the Word application as administrator by following the steps below

Right click on Word application and click ‘Run as admin’.

And follow the steps below to enable naturally speaking (add-in) in Word and check if it works fine.

Click on File, Options, Add-ins, and Click on ‘GO’ beside Manage – COM Add-ins and check the add-in option next to Netspeak and click OK

    I do not have Word 2010.

    I am running Dragon 12.50.000.142

    If I disable the add-in, there are no new updates for it. I have checked. And Dragon doesn't work, then.

    And Word still crashes, and takes Dragon with it.

    Thanks to everyone for your notes on this problem.  All have been helpful. I have a Dell XPS 18 running Windows 8 (64 bit)  with Office 2013 (64 bit) and Dragon 12.5. Neither Excel nor Word will work. I restored my computer back to the factory start point for the second time now as this is the only way to correct the problem.   I tried everything else without result. I will not be able to use Dragon until the companies come up with a fix.

    its a shame that Nuance didn't look forward at the newer Words that were bound to be released, at the same time, Microsoft should have the sense to integrate software like Dragon knowing it would be used.

    Im only glad that I can type fairly quickly....though its not quite as easy as dictating my reports and then fine tuning them as I did with wordperfect12 over summer before I purchased Microsoft 13.

    I guess its back to that until its fixed......waste of hard drive in the meantime.
