MS Word 2013 stops working with The Dragon Naturally Speaking version 12

Have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windws 8 and have thereafter installed the Office 2013 trial version on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop. The Dragon Naturally Speaking version 12 works with MS Outlook as well as MS Excel however whenever I attempt to open MS Word i get a response Microsoft Word has stopped working: A problem caused te program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Please help me or inform me how long shall it take to provide the solution.

I shall try to assist you in related to your Word issue.

Verify if the ‘Dragon naturally speaking’ (Netspeak) add-in is enabled in Word application?

Try running the Word application as administrator by following the steps below

Right click on Word application and click ‘Run as admin’.

And follow the steps below to enable naturally speaking (add-in) in Word and check if it works fine.

Click on File, Options, Add-ins, and Click on ‘GO’ beside Manage – COM Add-ins and check the add-in option next to Netspeak and click OK

    I found the solution and many other problems with Dragon 14 and Microsoft Word 2003 and 2013 at this website: KnowBrainer.com. Here's what they said to do:

    With Dragon - What to Do When You Lose Select-&-Say in Microsoft Word 2007 - Word 2016

    1. From within Microsoft Word press {Alt+f} or click the File menu.
    2. Click on the Options button.
    3. Click Add-Ins from the options on the left side of the Word Options dialog. You should see Manage COM Add-ins displayed at the bottom of the page. If it’s not displayed, make the appropriate change.
    4. Click the Go button. Put a checkmark in NatSpeak Word Addin, in the following window, click OK and close and relaunch MS Word. If you find an existing checkmark for NatSpeak Word Addin, remove the checkmark and click OK. Then repeat steps 1 through 3.

    If the previous steps fail you may want to additionally delete or relocate Microsoft Word's normal.dot template. If you do not write Microsoft Word macros it is perfectly safe to exit Microsoft Word, delete this template and then re-launch Word. When you reopen Microsoft Word it will re-create the template from a clean backup. You will probably find the normal.dot template at C:\Documents and Settings(your user name)\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\normal.dotm in Windows XP. In Windows 7/8/10 you will find it at C:\Users(your username)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\ normal.dotm.

    (Note: after I got Dragon 14, every time I opened one of my old word documents done with  Word 2003 then Dragon would not work properly, I did not have full dictation and the steps one through 4 would not work – the add-in for Dragon would disappear – get unchecked. It only started working properly when I did the very last solution of deleting the template for Word 2003.

    I have problems with MS Word 2013 and Dragon Naturally Speaking 14 PI. I get error when I open Word doc: (Dictation is not possible or is restricted for the current window due to the Dragon add-in for MS word not being loaded).

    I tried what you said above and but problems persist. I did quick repair of Dragon and was able to dictate but not have full Dragon functioning In Word so I did which he said again and now Dragon won't even dictate words. Also when I did a Save As dictation didn't work either in the Saved As window. Please help.
