MS Word 2013 stops working with The Dragon Naturally Speaking version 12

Have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windws 8 and have thereafter installed the Office 2013 trial version on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop. The Dragon Naturally Speaking version 12 works with MS Outlook as well as MS Excel however whenever I attempt to open MS Word i get a response Microsoft Word has stopped working: A problem caused te program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Please help me or inform me how long shall it take to provide the solution.

I shall try to assist you in related to your Word issue.

Verify if the ‘Dragon naturally speaking’ (Netspeak) add-in is enabled in Word application?

Try running the Word application as administrator by following the steps below

Right click on Word application and click ‘Run as admin’.

And follow the steps below to enable naturally speaking (add-in) in Word and check if it works fine.

Click on File, Options, Add-ins, and Click on ‘GO’ beside Manage – COM Add-ins and check the add-in option next to Netspeak and click OK

    I had similar issue and just checked with Nuance - they say Dragon 12 is not yet compatible with Word 2013!  So, until Nuance comes up with a patch, I think we are out of luck!

    I have uninstalled Office 2013 and installed a paid (rental) version of Office 365; so far Dragon naturally speaking works perfectly well with this product.

    Same deal, and I try to stay with the new software but not now. Office has to go and Windows 8 might be next!

     

    I purchased a new Dell high spec computer running Windows 8 a week ago and I have had nothing but grief. Dragon 12 and Word 2013 will not run, as all those in this post, AutoCAD 2013 will not run and is stated as being non-compatible with no fix date announced, a lot of so called compatible free Firewalls have not worked correctly (now settled with PrivateFirewall which seems fine), most of my printers do not work correctly, most of my old and faithful software does not work (to be fair this is stated on the compatibility website) and I have not been able to dual boot the computer with XP so I can have a working solution to my problems.

    Why on earth have Microsoft not made their operating systems and general software compatible with older systems over the last few years? I think I am going to downgrade my computer to XP and go back to DNS 11.5 and one of the older Word.

    I have always been so excited when I have bought a new computer but this time I feel totally deflated.

    Nuance have issued following statement regarding the problem discussed here but with no solution yet:
