Have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windws 8 and have thereafter installed the Office 2013 trial version on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop. The Dragon Naturally Speaking version 12 works with MS Outlook as well as MS Excel however whenever I attempt to open MS Word i get a response Microsoft Word has stopped working: A problem caused te program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Please help me or inform me how long shall it take to provide the solution.

I shall try to assist you in related to your Word issue.
Verify if the ‘Dragon naturally speaking’ (Netspeak) add-in is enabled in Word application?
Try running the Word application as administrator by following the steps below
Right click on Word application and click ‘Run as admin’.
And follow the steps below to enable naturally speaking (add-in) in Word and check if it works fine.
Click on File, Options, Add-ins, and Click on ‘GO’ beside Manage – COM Add-ins and check the add-in option next to Netspeak and click OK

Highlight words and while dictating cause the entire screen to flicker, like all the text becomes selected to the point of being unusable. I now only use Dragon 12 with Word 2007. Also, combined with a relatively bland experience with Outlook 2013, I'm beginning to wonder why I decided to upgrade at all.
This is pretty bad.
Clearly there are issues running 2013 + Dragon 12 and I would think this should be a priority for Microsoft and Nuance.
I know this is an older thread, but I'm just wondering if anyone has figured out a solution for this problem? I'm having this issue with Dragon and Word 2013 too. I first had Dragon Legal 12 and Word 2010 and had this problem with the screen flashing - it's like the software is selecting and un-selecting the text in my word doc every few seconds. I've since upgraded to Word 2013 - same problem. Then I downloaded a trial of Dragon Professional Individual 14 because I was told that this has been resolved with that - it's still happening. I even tried putting my software on a computer with Windows 10 on it to see if the issue would be resolved in Windows 10 - nope, it's still there. It's driving me nuts! It doesn't happen in DragonPad, but I don't want to be forced to use DragonPad just because Dragon and Word can't play nicely together.
STILL BUSTED... works for the first word document... cannot open a new word document if DD is open. I have to close out of DD to open a second word document! windows 8.1 on surface, MS 2010 DD version 13
