riverpoint writer

I just want a clean, virus free location to download riverpoint writer or somewhere I can purchase a copy of this program.  I'm not sure why this program is so hard to find.  99% of the links I've found online have viruses so I'm still looking for that 1% to download or purchase a clean copy.  I know that there has to be other people that enjoy this program.

    Read the previous posts in this thread.

    When I tried to make enquiries about the legality of providing Riverpoint Writer to non UoP students, I received the following response:

    "Sorry, I can't really help you. All I know about the legalities is that the University of Phoenix

    makes the software available to faculty and students for free. I do not currently have a copy installed, and I don't intend to install it, because I consider the product to be a distinctly second-rate effort.  A better choice, in my view, is APA PERRLA from perrla.com.

    One of (but certainly not the only) the problems with RP is that the references list that it creates is a single object. When I need to insert a Word comment about an APA error that a student makes (and they make a lot, even with RP), the comment gets tagged onto the entire reference list. With APA PERRLA, I can comment about any arbitrarily short or long passage of an part of the paper"

    I later tried to contact the Apollo Group, the parent corporation of UoP, who apparently developed the application about the legality of providing it to non UoP students, but have never received a response.

    That makes two of us! I had the program when still a student w/UOPx for 2-1/2 years I left UOPx (temp) about 5/2012 but last year around Sept. 2014 my pc decided to 'blue screen' and therefore I lost everything, and have also been looking  for a clean copy of RiverPoint Writer. I haven't suffered the viruses, but when I do find a clean copy, it won't let me open it after the installation. Whats up with that?
