Trying to do a mail merge with office 2013.  I've done this for years with other versions of office (2003, 2007, 2010) but it's not working with 2013 for some reason.  I'm following all the steps, but the emails aren't getting sent.  Is there some way that the profile or something is set up wrong so that word isn't sending this properly? I've also tried to send via outlook, but in outlook I can't choose an excel spreadsheet for the list of contacts.

What is wrong with this?  someone plesae help me!  My outlook profiles are all messed up becasue i use icloud to sync the calendar and contacts, but i use pop/stmp (whatever that means) for my email....

    HI,

    TRY THIS-

Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type “regedit”, and then click OK. Delete the “2.8” registry key that is under [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib{2DF8D04C-5BFA-101B-BDE5-00AA0044DE52}].

Two new Dell Inspiron machines, same spec and preloaded with O/S. One with Win 10 Pro and one with Win 8.1. Both have MS Small Business Premium 365 (2013). Both fully updated and both running same AV, firewall product and settings. No other products/software installed as yet. No 3rd party addins. No changes to configuration.

    Win10 + Office 2013 - mail merge (excel > word > outlook) fails.

    Win 8.1 + Office 2013 - mail merge (excel > word > outlook) succeeds.

I'm not sure where to look other than at MS configuration/settings?

Start by eliminating Outlook from the situation by attempting to execute the merge to a new document by selecting the Edit Individual Documents option in the Finish & Merge section of the Mailings tab of the ribbon.

If both machines can do that, then the issue must be in the configuration of Outlook on the Windows 10 machine.  Try one of the other format options for the email messages.

You have to be the least helpful person I have EVER read on the internet when it comes to an issue which is clearly a Microsoft Office product issue.

I feel sorry for those that have interacted with you, completely rude and unhelpful. You seem to know nothing about this topic so I would advise those who have read this users "advice" to completely ignore.

I hope that made you feel better. And I hope you have a nice weekend too.

Given that most users of Office 2013 have no trouble with merging to email when they need to, why do you suppose it's a 'Microsoft Office product issue' and not a fault with your computer itself? If you're so sure of yourself, go tell Microsoft precisely what the 'Microsoft Office product issue' is at http://word.uservoice.com/. I'm sure they'd like to know.
