Trying to do a mail merge with office 2013.  I've done this for years with other versions of office (2003, 2007, 2010) but it's not working with 2013 for some reason.  I'm following all the steps, but the emails aren't getting sent.  Is there some way that the profile or something is set up wrong so that word isn't sending this properly? I've also tried to send via outlook, but in outlook I can't choose an excel spreadsheet for the list of contacts.

What is wrong with this?  someone plesae help me!  My outlook profiles are all messed up becasue i use icloud to sync the calendar and contacts, but i use pop/stmp (whatever that means) for my email....

Two new Dell Inspiron machines, same spec and preloaded with O/S. One with Win 10 Pro and one with Win 8.1. Both have MS Small Business Premium 365 (2013). Both fully updated and both running same AV, firewall product and settings. No other products/software installed as yet. No 3rd party addins. No changes to configuration.

    Win10 + Office 2013 - mail merge (excel > word > outlook) fails.

    Win 8.1 + Office 2013 - mail merge (excel > word > outlook) succeeds.

I'm not sure where to look other than at MS configuration/settings?

    HI,

    TRY THIS-

Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type “regedit”, and then click OK. Delete the “2.8” registry key that is under [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib{2DF8D04C-5BFA-101B-BDE5-00AA0044DE52}].

And quite unnecessary for a problem that isn't Microsoft's anyway... The fact you could resolve the problem by using another computer proves that. The real problem was undoubtedly with either your computer (e.g. a faulty Windows or Office installation, a faulty 3rd-party Office addin, faulty AV software, or even faulty hardware) or your implementation. Reinstalling Windows and all your apps (being careful to check for conflicts with Office) might have resolved your problem much more cheaply. Mailmerge to email works just fine on a properly configured Office 2013 setup, as Doug Robbins attested years ago in this very thread.

I actually ended up changing computer. An expensive way to fix a problem that Microsoft prefers to ignore.

I am having the same issue in Office 2013 (op.sys: Windows 10; Microsoft Word 2013 with a Office365 account).

I tried sending in plain text format - then I get the security warning and have to start allowing the sending.

No prompt with HTML format - simply doesn't send. I assume it has got something to do with security? (I have Windows Defender antivirus)

Any feedback ON THE matter welcomed!
