Trying to do a mail merge with office 2013.  I've done this for years with other versions of office (2003, 2007, 2010) but it's not working with 2013 for some reason.  I'm following all the steps, but the emails aren't getting sent.  Is there some way that the profile or something is set up wrong so that word isn't sending this properly? I've also tried to send via outlook, but in outlook I can't choose an excel spreadsheet for the list of contacts.

What is wrong with this?  someone plesae help me!  My outlook profiles are all messed up becasue i use icloud to sync the calendar and contacts, but i use pop/stmp (whatever that means) for my email....

    Hi everyone,

I have the same problem as Robert 2175. I see the folders which Doug is referring to, but not the actual tools. The link provided only shows word files that explain how the tools work, but not the tools themselves. Any help appreciated! Thank you!

I am a teacher.  I send parent letters home to my students each week.  I have always used mail merge to put the students' names in at the top.  Everything worked fine until last week!  I have Word 2013.  I selected recipients, it showed my students' names, then when I went to merge them, I got this message "Word could not open 3DB6D390 because it didn't contain a valid database."  I have a word document which I have since resaved in 2013 thinking that might be the problem with the students' first and last names.  I have done nothing differently since I first started doing this with Win98!  Please help.  I don't have time to write their names on each parent letter nor the time to fuss with this problem.

    Thank you in advance.

There is no change between 2010 and 2013 other than in Word 2010, you used File>Save & Send>Send Using E-mail and in Word 2013 you use File>Share>Email.  Once you get to that point, in both versions, the Send a Link unless the file is saved in a shared location (such as a folder on your OneDrive).

    Dear Doug

I am having similar problem in office 2013.   I have genuine Windows 8.1.

I can see the File>Share>Email....... but the second option "send a link" is dead.  But if I only want to send email from a word document which I was doing well without any issues in 2010 office.

    Do you have any solution?

    Thanks

    Reny
