MS Access 2013 crashes continually on different computers.

I having increasing problems with Access 2013 crashing.  Even after compacting and repairing the database it crashes all of the time - now it's crashing whenever I try to do a "save as" or when I try to exit.  It's been unstable since I started using it but it seems to be getting worse, and it happens on multiple machines. Anyone have an idea why it's constantly crashing?

    Hi Gina,

    That's the weird part.  The entire database is under 10 MB.  The table the query is built off of is only 41 records containing two small text fields, and several numbers and date fields.

    At worst, there is a Group By query...no Crosstabs.

    Hmmm, okay, well that is different!  That suggests to me there is some *heavy* processing going on.  Do the RecordSources for the reports have a lot of calculations?  A large query?  Is it a Crosstab query?

    Ahh, thanks for the clarification. :)

    Perhaps "crash" isn't the correct word.  It's more like Access hangs (freezes...goes in to "Not responding" mode) waits a bit of time, and then "unfreezes" and resumes operation.  This could happen on even simple operations like executing a simple select query.

    1.  I wasn't suggesting to set a Reference to and earlier one.  Access 2013 does not play nice with earlier versions which is why I wanted to know what version of Excel you have instaled.

    1. You mentioned you sometimes get an error ad I was tryng to figure out want you were trying to do that produced that error.
    2. <grin> that is why I capitalized the RE, just to say do it again if any Module was missing either line.

    Hmmm, running out of ideas BUT... Do you get a chance to press Debug when an error happens or does it just crash.  If you can press Debug then it would be nice to know what line is causing the error.

    Hi Gina,

    1.  Excel 2013 is the only entry when I type "Excel" in my start menu.  For the most part, I am using late binding...but at some point I'll completely make the switch and let you know how that works.  There is no option for me to set a reference to Excel 14 in VBA (only Excel 15)

    2.  Not sure what this question is asking.  I'm explicitly using DAO.Database, and DAO.Recordset, and using "CurrentDB()".  Sounds like I don't need to set a Reference to DAO 3.6 - which would make sense as I didn't have one set while using Access 2010 (before the upgrade) and all was working just fine.

    3.  Yes.  Every module (class, form, module...) has Option Compare Database and Option Explicit.  Out of curiosity, I don't see an option under the debug menu called "RE-compile"...I just see "Compile".  As a side note, I've also tried the "Decompile" suggestion but that didn't help.

    4.  32 bit Access (Office Professional Plus) running on Windows 7 64 bit.

    Any suggestions?
