Remember "Show tabs" setting in OneNote ribbon?

Nick - It's so nice to know that there is an ear out.  I know it is off topic, but can you tell me the best way to request features or resolution for issues with other one note items?  One Note is a fantastic program for digital notetaking - but it still needs to straddle the word of paper. My goal is to have a series of continuous letter size pages - that I could take notes on, and scroll vertically - limiting it to letter size width, and either breaking the pages at letter height or someone indicating where that break would be.  This would allow digital notetaking, but allow me to print the notes for issue on letter size paper. I can certainly create a letter size page, take notes on it, then create another page, but then I have to switch from page to page - I can't scroll through the notes. I've searched for a solution everywhere, and I see this has been a request for about a decade, but no way to resolve that I ca see.  Can yo urefer me to a place where there might be a resolution or the best place to raise this with engineers?

We have engineers that look over Reddit periodically and bugs posted here are escalated pretty reliably (the first reply you get is from some support engineer with varying degrees of competency but if you insist the problem isn't solved we have a support member of the team that will create bugs internally).

In general, product direction tends to come from within a company. We will take feature requests into account but unfortunately we don't have time to make the product do everything (nor would that be a good idea in general).

With respect to that feature you requested, there has been talk of making "print preview lines" of some sort that would allow you to properly place notes onto pages while scrolling through the canvas. However, that probably would not include the UI that would enable you to make super-effective use of very long pages, but it's a start :)

That feature is not being migrated to the new client, but I believe it will continue to function on Win32 assuming an update to IE doesn't break it.

As a bit of history, it was implemented by a spin-off team in Beijing some duration ago without regard to how maintainable it was (they used undocumented APIs and tricks which were liable to change and in doing so created a nightmare). Obviously the scenario is important but probably won't be handled in the same way moving forward.

Okay :-)  I really liked the potential of linked notes although admittedly I couldn't integrate it into my workflow. I wanted to have all my PDFs in OneNote and then while taking notes on a separate OneNote page,  link to specific PDF pages. That way when I refer to the notes later on, I have direct links to the source PDF. And I could use the back and forward buttons to easily switch back and forth between the notes and the source PDF. This would be super powerful! Much faster than opening and closing PDF files and trying to find the right page.

But the OneNote Win10 app is beautiful, so if you can get something like the above in it I will be super impressed.

(PS I was at Melbourne University library the other day, and the librarian who was helping me noticed I was using the OneNote Win10 app and he asked me what it was because he was so impressed)
