What happened to Pivot Table view in Access 2013?

Wow.  This is like a bad joke.  Now I can't complete my Business Analytics class project because my version of Access dropped a useful, common database feature.

Honestly, this makes no sense.  Why remove an already-existing feature, whether the creators thought it was important or not?  That's just poor decision-making.  You never throw away what you've already developed unless it's defective or you have a superior replacement.

I agree you have to talk to your instructor for a work around.

I don't agree that learning this function is of no value. Maybe MS will get the message and return the functionality (hey, I heard that big belly laugh!  Well, it could happen ... <grin>  ). And you never know if you will be using 2010 at work.

Hmm, perhaps you inform your instructor that this has been removed from Access 2013 and an updated curriculum is in order.  No sense in learning something that will no value.

Your first statement is the answer to your question.  MS limited the functionality as a way of milking more money from customers ..

MS isn't in bankruptcy yet because it takes a LONG time to do that to a company that has billions of dollars of quarterly PROFITS, has billions (trillions?) in assets. That is a huge amount of financial inertia.  Give them a little time, they are working hard at it ... (ribbon, Metro/Win8, Surface ...) They just need a little more practice ...

This is ridiculous. I have an entire assignment that deals with pivotcharts and pivottables in access and I will now receive a 0 unless I want to shell out hundreds of dollars for Office 2010. In what way was taking away from the program an improvement? This kind of backwards thinking is way too common with this program. I'm amazed Microsoft isn't in bankruptcy yet.
