Arrow keys don't work in slide view mode in powerpoint

My powerpoint used to work fine but recently I am unable to advance or move my slides backwards in the Slide view mode with arrow keys, space bar and return.  Nothing seems to work.  I cannot even exit the presentation with the ESC key.  I need to use the cursor to exit presentation.  Because of this situation, I cannot use the remote control to advance my slides.  PLS HELP!!!

I have fixed the problem on my side following these steps:

  • Open the "Slide show" tab in the ribbon
  • Click on "Set Up Slide Show"
  • Make sure that following options are selected "Show type" = presented by the speaker (full screen) and "Advance slides" = manually

    Delete the whole Office

    Install again

    Load the updates

    There are some updates you need to take before the others..

    My last one, like I said: 14.2.3

    Again: I don´t know, if the 14.3.0 would be ok, but I´m just too tired to try..

    Forget about the 14.3.1, even if it didn´t cause the problem, it didn´t solve it!

    Works perfectly!

    How did you bring it back to 14.2.3?  Mine is currently 14.3.1.  Please advise.  Thanks.

    Yes, Mountain Lion.

    And no, nothing in preferences.

    There isn´t any possibility to set anything like "no keyboard incl. Esc but let Enter work"

    I just tried a presentation, no problem.

    It must have been the last update!

    But, as I wrote, I´m not sure if it was the 14.3.1 or already the 14.3.0, so I stopped at 14.2.3, which is working fine.
