Microsoft Office 2013 Has Stopped Working

Just installed Office 2013 Professional Plus.  Everytime i try and run one of the apps like word, excel, outlook, and so on it just pops up and saying it has stopped working.  It then says it searchs for a solution online which doesn't ever do anything there either.  This happens with all the componenets of Office.  After it erroring out a couple of times i can usually get it to start in safe mode.  I have already gone in and disabled the add ins.  Have tried uninstalling Office and reinstalling.  Did a repair on it.  Tried doing the reapair while Norton AntiVirus and Firewall were disabled.  Installed all the Office 2013 updates.  None of them have fixed the issue.  Booted my computer into safe mode with networking and tried running it from there, it didn't give me the error saying it has stopped just that it can't be run in safe mode.  I'm running Win 7 Pro 64 Bit.

Thanks.

I solved my issue last weekend.  Turned out to be one of the add-ins, ABBYY Finereader.  Not sure where that one came from, but I disabled it for Outlook and Excel, and everything is working fine now.

[Note from CM: Microsoft is aware of this problem; see "Office programs may crash with the FineReader add-in installed" at**http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2755838/en-us**.]

As the problem is with PowerPoint, it might be best to ask in the PowerPoint forum.

However, see the Article “Why can’t I start my Office 2013 application at:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/why-cant-i-start-my-office-2013-application-HA104011864.aspx

If that does not help, then you might remove all traces of the Office installation by downloading the fixit from the following article:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

saving it to your computer and then running it.

Then reinstall Office by logging into www.office.com/myaccountwith your registered email address and click Install Office.

I get the error message that the program has stopped working for every app under Office.  I even get the message during installation of Office.  While Office is getting things ready and as soon as the welcome screen pops up I get the error but the app still installs in the background.  I have tried re-installing 4 times and get the same every time.  It does not work in safe mode either.  I'm running Windows 8.1 64-bit.

I had the same exact problem with my Office 365 Plus on Windows 8.1.  My issue turned out to be the drivers for my third monitor which is a StarTech.com provided product.  Exact model is a Trigger II part number USB2DVIE3 when searching it in startech.com website.

The drivers provided were in the CD and they have updated drivers on their website here (this link will go directly to the driver download for you) - http://sgcdn.startech.com/005329/media/sets/Trigger\_Series\_Drivers/Trigger.zip

Or just visit the website and download it here: http://www.startech.com/AV/USB-Video-Adapters/USB-to-DVI-Multi-Monitor-Adapter~USB2DVIE3#dnlds

So, in summary, third monitor USB to DVI adapter from startech.com.

    Hope this helps.
