Microsoft Office 2013 Has Stopped Working

as others who frequent that forum may be able to shed some light on the problem.

I started having the same "Outlook stopped working" issue and then it would not restart. I have a workaround but I haven't seen anything in this thread that describes what I have seen as the problem. My problem started about one month ago and it comes occasionally while I am just working. I have Outlook 2013 (32-bit) installed on a Windows 7 64-bit OS. I have only 1 Outlook POP3 email account defined to the mail server at my service provider. I disabled the IMAP email account that I had but removing it did not solve my issue. 

What I have found is this. For some reason when a certain email (not necessarily the same one is being downloaded from the POP3 server)  Outlook stops with the "Outlook stopped working" message and then when I restart Outlook it will restart to the point that it starts to download email after being started and the error message "Outlook stopped working" again. It has happened several time but not every day. When Outlook starts the download it does NOT delete the message(s) on the providers POP3 server until it has downloaded the entire collection of stored emails. Because of this Outlook will try to start but come to the same error condition. The reason that I say that it is an email is that if go to the provider email web all my emails are still there. If I delete the emails that are stored on the service provider POP3 in my received account waiting to be downloaded to Outlook. If I go back to Outlook it will start normally --- no reboots, no running in safe-mode, no changes to anything including restarting or stopping any running application or services on the computer.

From this recovery it is evident to me that something is different about an email that I receive. The issue is random and I am not sure if it is the same email as I have to delete the emails on the POP3 server to get Outlook to start again. 

If anyone else runs into this issue you might try to see if this fixes your issue. I tried just about everything the first time that this occurred a month ago. I reloading Outlook from scratch -- used an older backup boot disk with everything that worked perfectly including Outlook 2013 as it was before and Outlook still would not start until I deleted the emails off the POP3 server on my service provider.

That's correct. It is installed with most Epson Printers.

I solved my issue last weekend.  Turned out to be one of the add-ins, ABBYY Finereader.  Not sure where that one came from, but I disabled it for Outlook and Excel, and everything is working fine now.

Yep...I had the same issue.  Uninstalled ABBYY Finereader and all is ok.

I'm pretty sure Finereader got installed when I installed a new Epson WF-3520 printer.
