Hi David, In case you haven't already found the solution right click on Excel 2013 (or any other Office 2013 application) and select 'Run as Administrator' then follow the steps to activate online Regards Mark Thank you for the solution Mark but I have to say this is pathetic. Come on Microsoft! There is no mention of running the program as an admin to activate it just keeps badgering the user and failing over and over and over and over. The product was purchased online, downloaded and installed. You know who the user is! How can you not you force use to create an account. You can't just activate automatically or allow it without admin rights?

Thanks Mark, that works for me ! This still hasn't remedied my issue with this. I just had another one today. I have to call the 1-800 number and go through the 'key in the bazillion numbers' routine because it says my license has been used too many times. Not true. I bought six and used six.

Hold down the Shift key and the right click to get the Run as Admin option. This solution also works for users, who already HAVE admin rights! Thanks Richard
