Very late but for anyone else having this problem on Windows 7. Get the Visio icon available (either in the start menu or search for "visio"). Right click on the icon and select "Properties". Go to the "Compatibility" tab There should be a "Privilege Level" section which an option to "Run this program as an administrator". Enable that. Run Visio Do steps 1..4 again except disable the option. This worked for me to get my Visio activated.

Hi David,

In case you haven't already found the solution right click on Excel 2013 (or any other Office 2013 application) and select 'Run as Administrator' then follow the steps to activate online
